Summer 2026 APEx opportunities

SPARK Lab NYC is seeking two research assistants for the ongoing project 'Data solution for impacts of climate-related extremes on incarcerated people in the United States'.

Research Assistant: Data management and analysis

This person will assist with cleaning and preparing large datasets for statistical analyses.
Start Date: March 1st 2026
Desired Qualifications

Strong data analysis skills
Knowledge of working with large, complex datasets
Proficiency in at least one programming language (R or Python preferred)

Research Assistant: Focus group Coordinator

This person will assist in organizing focus groups between formerly incarcerated people, policy makers, journalists, and lawyers.
Start Date: June 1st 2026
Desired Qualifications

Strong interpersonal skills
Experience or interest in qualitative methodologies and community-engaged research

Position Details

Open to Columbia Mailman masters students
